Hey, so I don’t usually send a newsletter on a Sunday… But in case you have studio time set for today, and it sounds like fun to you to record some of your art making, I have a super simple art video recording tip for you that you can immediately use: Before you record: Clean the lens on your phone. And this includes the selfie lens above the screen. Oils from our faces get on the lens’ glass when we talk on our phones, and from our hands holding our phones too, which leads to a greasy lens. Just use a cotton cloth, a lens cloth if you have one, or just a clean part of a t-shirt. It works wonders and will make a visual difference in the quality of the footage because the lens will be smudge-free (especially if your setup is backlit that you're recording). ... So I'll leave you with this — If you'd like more guidance with your art video recording setup using your phone: This week I'm hosting a new, live workshop called the Easy Art Video Setup. At it I'll walk you through the essential tools and techniques for recording your artwork in a sustainable way…and dare I even say even fun. It’ll be actually enjoyable for you to record your artwork. → What questions do you have about using your phone to record yourself making art?Reply and let me know. I’d love to help if I can! And enjoy the rest of your weekend. Keep creating, P.S. This Easy Art Video Setup workshop is the low-pressure, art-first approach to filming yourself making art, using the tools you already have. It’s happening live this Wed. June 11th at 4pm ET on Zoom…and a replay is included, yes. A few Early Bird tickets remain for $27 USD (as of sending you this note).☀️ |
